A Space Where You Are Truly Heard

At M Listens, we believe that healing begins the moment you feel understood.

Life can feel like a tangled thread of thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Our role is not to untangle it for you, but to sit beside you, gently helping you make sense of it all, at your own pace.

This is not just therapy.
This is a space where your story matters.

Meet Mahira

Therapy is personal. Choosing the right therapist should be too.

Finding the right therapist is not only about qualifications, it's about finding someone you feel comfortable talking to and someone who helps you understand yourself in new ways.

I am Mahira Chishty-Zakiuddin, a Registered Social Worker and therapist based in Ontario. I work with adults, couples, and families who are experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, or patterns that leave them feeling stuck.

My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and the patterns influencing how you think, feel, and respond. Together, we work toward practical, meaningful change that fits your life and your goals.

Why I Became a Therapist

I have always been drawn to understanding people, not just what they are experiencing, but understanding the why behind the experience.

I have witnessed how easily anxiety, conflict, stress, and past experiences can shape the way we relate to ourselves and the people around us. Often, we know something isn't working, but we don't yet understand the pattern behind it.

Therapy creates the space to slow down, make sense of those patterns, and beginresponding in ways that feel healthier, more intentional, and more aligned with who you want to be.

Helping people build that awareness—and seeing the confidence and clarity that follows—is what continues to inspire my work.

How I Work

No two people experience life in exactly the same way, therapy therapy cannot follow a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether you are coming on your own, with your partner, or as a family, I tailor each session to your unique experiences, goals, and pace, while being grounded in evidence-based practices.

Our work together focuses on understanding the connections between your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships. As these patterns become clearer, many clients find they feel more confident managing emotions, communicating effectively, setting boundaries, and navigating life's challenges.

Therapy is not always about becoming someone different. It is infact about understanding yourself well enough to make choices that feel authentic and sustainable.
